La Casa Cubanita

Built in 1924, this historical home was part of the company town founded in 1916 by Milton Hershey, American chocolatier and businessman. Hershey town was renamed after the Cuban Revolution, Central Camilo Cienfuegos. Its sugar mill, the biggest in South and Central America, was closed in 2002. With great knowledge on the area, the owner Anita, is more than happy to give you more details on this unique town in Cuba.

La casa, warmly decorated with antiques and carpenter work, is a family home with 3 comfortable bedrooms. Enjoy AC, a huge patio with a variety of Cuban fruit trees and herbs, and the quaint location. Situated on a very quiet street, you will see horses and carts or bicycles pass by. We have two bicycles at your disposal if you want to tour our little town on your own.

Anita

The owner, Anne Marie, later named Anita by locals, is easy to find in the surroundings. Just ask for the casa of the Canadian lady named Anita! She began travelling to Cuba more than 30 years ago, later getting and a bachelor in Spanish studies and moving to the island in 2014. Anita became the first Canadian to work in tourism for the state of Cuba as a Cuban with all Cubans rights.
